Renewable Power Partners develops solar and energy storage projects in Ontario and New York. We obtain regulatory approvals, finance, construct, own and operate solar and battery projects.

2012
Renewable Power Partners founded
Founded by Simon Rowland in Toronto, Canada.
2013
First solar rooftop portfolio approved
First two commercial rooftop solar projects approved in Toronto, Ontario with a total capex of $3.6M.
2014
36 ground-mount projects approved
Two additional portfolios with 36 ground-mount projects receives approvals, with a capex of $57M.
2015
22 ground mount projects approved
We receive contracts and planning approvals for a further 22 ground-mount sites in Ontario valued at $36M.
2017
9 ground mount projects approved
Contracts and planning approvals for 9 ground-mount projects valued at $18M received.
2018
Two junior developers acquired
The solar assets of two junior development firms are integrated into Renewable Power Partners, including Green Life Power, adding a total of 40 MW to our project pipeline.
2022
OEB permits 3rd party ownership
The Ontario Energy Board’s decision to allow third-party ownership of net-metering installations paves the way for Renewable Power Partners to offer reduced electricity prices in the Ontario market.
2023
Development begins on New York battery projects
Our team begins development of front-of-meter battery projects in New York state.
2024
Ontario merchant solar and battery launch
We launch a novel service to sell electricity at lower rates to commercial properties in Ontario using onsite solar and battery equipment, with no cost to the ratepayer.
